UF & PNR November 2016
I didn’t think the summer heat would ever end. It kept a grip on Michigan well into October but once Hurricane Matthew rolled along the east coast that cold front came through and Fall happened.
Autumn is a very bittersweet time of year -as much as I love Fall- the colors, the aromas, apples, pumpkins and of course, Halloween. I hate to see it all end when the death of winter hits.
November in Michigan is very in between time. The leaves have all fallen and the grass has died. It’s a very barren brown time. You never know what the weather will be like; I’ve seen blizzards on Halloween which lead to a November covered in snow. Then other years we’re lucky if we see snow before January.
The darkness comes early and the nights are long. I love to grab a fuzzy blanket, a hot mug of herbal tea and disappear into a book. The best way to survive the winter is with a well-stocked library. Books have always kept me sane, free from the grasp of cabin fever.
And there are plenty of new releases to add to my shelf to help keep me warm and entertained during a long, cold winter.
What new releases will you be adding to your shelf and which ones are on your wish list?
I’m an Anne Rice fan from way back- so you know Prince Lestat and the Realms of Atlantis: The Vampire Chronicles by Anne Rice is at the top of my must have list.
Belle Chasse by Suzanne Johnson is also on my must have list- the Sentinels of New Orleans is such a great series. I seem to have a thing for New Orleans authors.
New releases being added to my wish list include:
Leopard's Fury (Leopard People Book 9) by Christine Feehan
Archangel's Heart (A Guild Hunter Novel) by Nalini Singh
Shadowed Souls edited by Jim Butcher
Faithful by Alice Hoffman
Turbo Twenty-Three (Stephanie Plum 23) by Janet Evanovich
Curse on the Land by Faith Hunter
Living Spectres by Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
Good Vampires Go to Heaven: A Deadly Angels Book by Sandra Hill
New releases: These are on tour with Bewitching Book Tours this month.
The Haunting of the Hotel LaBelle by Sharon Buchbinder
Highway Thirteen to Manhattan by Kourtney Heintz
Belle Chasse by Suzanne Johnson
RR: Welcome Colette L. Saucier, let’s start with the name of your newest release and genre/category it falls into:
CS: Dearest Bloodiest Elizabeth ~ Book II: The Confession of Mr. Darcy, Vampire. It is a Historical paranormal romance.
RR: Can you describe your main character in 3 words?
CS: Darcy – haunted, possessive, passionate
RR: What kind of paranormals or paranormal elements are in your book? (ex: vampires, witches, succubi, demons, ghosts, psychic visions, elves, fairies, etc)
CS: The vampires in this novel, especially with the passage of time, are capable of telekinesis, pyrokinesis, and control of the elements – similar to Dracula’s ability to conjure a mist.
RR: Without giving away details, Can you describe one interesting scene in your book in less than two sentences?
CS: Elizabeth Darcy gets into a heated discussion with a dhampir, vampire hunter. I decided to make him Lutheran because Martin Luther has so many great quotes, but Elizabeth can give as much as she gets to stand up for her husband!
RR: In two sentences or less can you tell readers something unique about your book?
CS: Although it is paranormal, it is historically accurate. Everything you read about the Battle of New Orleans and the months following, Creole Society, and life in the Vieux Carré is true.
RR: Can you list three adjectives that describe your book as a whole?
CS: Dark, sensual, provocative.
RR: What’s the heat level of your book? (ex: arctic winter, sweet and romantic, hot and spicy, sizzling, scorch your panties hot)
RR: And last but not least, where can a reader purchase your book?
CS: Amazon Nook iBooks Kobo
The print book will be available from online booksellers, directly from the publisher, or ask at your favorite bookstore.
