Romance That’s Spooky Around the Edges - The Romance Zone
Happy Halloween, Night Owl Romance Fans! Woooo-hoo, this is one of my favorite times of year, when we get to celebrate all things spooky, scary and sometimes little silly.
But always romantic!
For you, I’ve been creeping through the romance stacks & crawling on the web to find some I think you’ll enjoy.
Thrilled to say I finally have a Halloween Romance of my very, very own. It was a delight to write, and I hope you’ll find it a fun, sexy read.
Touch Not the Cat; a Sexy Halloween Romance by Cathryn Cade. Contemporary Paranormal.
It will take a Halloween intervention of the furriest kind to get this unlikely pair together.
Egan Warburton can have any woman he wants—so of course this eligible wizard will choose a witch to share his new home. But why can’t he keep his eyes off his pretty neighbor? She’s too innocent for the likes of him … although she does love cats, especially Warlock, his own alter-ego. In either form, he can’t seem to resist playing naughty tricks to get her attention.
Too bad she’s a mortal with no idea his magickal realm even exists.
Paige Turner is the first to admit she’s as vanilla as they come--librarian, good neighbor and kind to cats, even black ones. But in her dreams, she’s a femme fatale who’s not afraid to shake off her bonds of caution and go after what she really wants ... such as her mysterious new neighbor, who is suddenly starring in her most erotic fantasies.
Too bad he’s also the most obnoxious man she’s ever met.
And if one fab Halloween romance is … well, fabulous, then 9 of them are fabulicious, right? Here’s a new set with a title that says it all.

Next up, another story WITCH I think you’ll like. This one’s about a witch who’d really rather NOT have her talent—flirting with the boundaries between life and death in Colorado.
Boundary Lines (Boundary Magic Book 2) by Melissa F. Olson. Paranormal witch romance.
Fitting into the Paranormal World isn’t going very well for Boulder, CO boundary witch Allison “Lex” Luther: she may have earned a place in a vampire’s service, but now it seems as if every supernatural creature in town has found a reason to hate her. And when Lex and her partner are assigned to investigate the suspicious disappearance of two vampires during the night of the full moon, they find themselves with more questions than answers.
Was it murder…or mutiny?
The crusade for answers will lead Lex all over the Colorado Old World, from a prison cell for a broken werewolf to a haunted Denver brothel. And when Lex determines the responsible party, the hunt is just beginning: something has been awakened in Boulder, something as old and powerful as it is terrifying. Only the woman with death in her blood can stop what’s coming.
Scared yet? Well, don’t worry, you will be. ‘Cause next we’re headed for the amusement park … one full of demons. Muwa-ha-ha … I loved this story, which combines creepy with Crusie’s LOL brand of humor.
Wild Ride, by Jennifer Crusie and Bob Mayer. Contemporary Paranormal.
The New York Times bestselling duo of Crusie and Mayer team up again for a witty paranormal novel that shows why the wildest ride at the Dreamland Amusement Park isn't the roller coaster
Mary Alice Brannigan doesn't believe in the supernatural. Nor does she expect to find that Dreamland, the decaying amusement park she's been hired to restore, is a prison for the five Untouchables, the most powerful demons in the history of the world. Plus, there's a guy she's falling hard for, and there's something about him that's not quite right.
But rocky romances and demented demons aren't the only problems in Dreamland: Mab's also coping with a crooked politician, a supernatural raven, a secret government agency, an inexperienced sorceress, an unsettling inheritance, and some mind-boggling revelations from her past. As her personal demons wreck her newfound relationship and real demons wreck the park, Mab faces down immortal evil and discovers what everybody who's ever been to an amusement park knows: The end of the ride is always the wildest.
And just so y’know, all the ghouls aren’t here on Earth. This story takes us on a wild ride into space, where a hero struggles to escape from a place where the elite practice the delicate art of ... cannibalism. That’s ghoulish enough for me!
Inherit the Stars—the Complete Novel, by Laurie A. Green. SFR Romance.
STEAMY SCIENCE FICTION ROMANCE ... JUST WHAT THE GALAXY ORDERED!
To escape the merciless Ithian Alliance, Sair, a fugitive slave, makes a desperate deal with Drea Mennelsohn, captain of the prototype ship, Specter. But putting his life in the hands of a woman as mysterious as she is beguiling could turn out to be the biggest mistake of his life, especially when the price on his head begins to escalate.
Drea seems to want far more from the fugitive than just payment for his passage on her ship. Though neither can deny the sizzling chemistry and growing bond between them, Sair must soon make an agonizing decision that could result in the loss of the remarkable woman he has fallen in love with—and their chance to inherit the stars.
Hmm, how about a historical ghost or two? This trio of ghostly stories takes us back to Regency times.
And now it’s time for Classic Spooky Theater … (cue sounds of door creaking open) So, say you’re an-ex beauty queen who’s down on your luck. I mean you have a nice janitorial biz, right? But your latest job … is at the funeral home! I know, right? And let’s just say, there are things here that aren’t dead. Love, love, love this classic spooky adventure, with plenty of hot romance.
Walking After Midnight by Karen Robards. Contemporary Paranormal/Ghost Romantic Suspense.
The nude male body lay on the embalming table, battered beyond recognition. Gingerly, Summer McAfee, chairman, CEO, and sole employee of Daisy Fresh cleaning service, reached out to touch an arm to reassure herself that she hadn't just seen the corpse move. Suddenly, shockingly, her hand was in the viselike grip of a man very much alive and desperate enough to take her captive on a no-holds-barred run from cops, killers, and his own decidedly complicated past...
Summer's former life as a New York lingerie model went south along with her marriage, leaving her, at thirty-six, single and back home in Tennessee, on her hands and knees scrubbing other people's bathrooms. And she thought that was bad--now she's forced to flee into the Tennessee wilds with the stranger she calls Frankenstein, first as his captive, then his companion, as they run from the enemies determined to destroy them both--straight into a raging passion that could only be the last laugh of fate...
One Haunted Evening (Haunted Regency Series Book 1) by Ava Stone, Jerrica Knight-Catania and Jane Charles.
Choose your own adventure, with two ways to read this trio (1) each separate novella as written or (2) a combined version in one timeline. The path of your HAUNTED journey is up to you...
In Stone’s THE LADY VANISHES – After inheriting a haunted castle, the Marquess of Bradenham heads to Ravenglass with his friends to inspect the place and host a Samhain masquerade party. He meets a lovely girl in the castle’s gardens, giving his life purpose. But then she vanishes without a trace just like the castle’s former mistress. Is one of Bradenham’s friends responsible for her disappearance? Or has the castle claimed another victim? And can the marquess find her before it’s too late and she’s lost forever?
In Knight-Catania’s THE HAUNTING OF LORD WOLF - Daphne Alcott is content with her life, making rum butter for her neighbors and assisting her brother, the town doctor. But the cold winds of autumn blow in a caravan of handsome gentlemen from London who turn their little town on its ear. * Alastair Darrington, Viscount Wolverly, is happy to go along with his friends on this little adventure to the Lake District. What he doesn’t expect is the young woman, covered in sticky, brown rum butter, who makes him question everything he’s ever thought about love, country life, and ghosts.
In Charles’s HER MUSE, HER MAGIC - Brighid Glace is not a witch, no matter how many times Blake Chetwey has called her one. She's a healer and he should be grateful she is. Without her, he might not survive his holiday at haunted Marisdùn Castle, when stricken with a bout of malaria. But Brighid will do all she can. Her heart would never survive otherwise. * After years of denying that Brighid affects him, Blake's life is in her hands. She is lovely, enchanting, and only a witch could make him feel such things. Is this fever, or love? And now that he wants her, will he lose her to a friend?
Happy Tricks and Treats to you, my friends!
