This looks to be the first book in a new series based in Ms. Singh’s Psy-Changeling world. It contains many of the characters found in the original series but this series is about the rebuilding of the world and it’s power struggles between the races. It is complex and has many dimensions. Yet, you will still enjoy this story without having read all or any of the previous series. This story shows change is very hard for some people. But, it’s not all seriousness. There are some very light-hearted moments and some you might even see as funny. I loved that this book was almost two stories within one and this book is divided like that two. So, yes, two romances within this book but they do have the same main characters. And, those main characters, Silver and Valentin are fantastic. They have great depth and complexity. They need to for a book this long!
Valentin showcases what an alpha changeling should be. He cares about each of his packmates and has a strong leadership quality. Silver is just as strong but she’s Psy. Though the practice of Silence is over, Silver finds comfort in it and finds dealing with rowdy bears a strain. Together they deal with politics, friends and family while they try to figure out what to do with each other. I absolutely loved this book and can’t wait to read more in this new Psy-Changeling Trinity series.
Silver is in charge of the EmNet; an emergency service that makes sure resources gets to disasters quickly regardless of which race is closest. She is strong and sure. She also firmly believes that each race must be equal to the others even though they all have their own strengths. Valentin loves to pester Silver. It’s a bear thing especially when you want to court your mate. Valentin knows Silver is a good match for him otherwise his bear wouldn’t want her so. After by passing her security, Valentin bothers her at her apartment concerning business that could have waited. Lucky he did when Silver falls to the ground and begins to convulse. What is going on?
