Talented illustrator Christopher Myers shows how a simple ink pen can be used to create some eye catching pictures of people, animals and scenes. All one needs is a solid imagination and some black ink and it is “game on”!
Whether you wish to create an elephant in a cup, a T-rex dinosaur, or some really cool sneakers, the sky is the limit as long as you have plenty of ink.
Myers isn’t really sharing a story here. Rather, he is showcasing his ability and art. The only problem here is that probably giving a young child a simple pen and ink like this would be a bit of a disaster. It takes a certain amount of expertise and a special touch to create what you see on these pages. This is not something a “beginner” can create!
Hand out crayons or colored pencils and some paper to the novice and let him or her try his/her hand at drawing something simple. Save the black ink and pen for later when the youngster’s skill level is equal to the task!
My pen rides dinosaurs and hides an elephant in a teacup.
